The patch effect
The Patch Effect: Where Skincare Meets Precision Styling
I was genuinely excited to be approached for this campaign — a project that sits at the intersection of skincare and technology, two spaces I’ve always been drawn to. Working with The Patch Effect, a brand focused on science-backed, accessible skincare, offered the opportunity to translate innovation into a refined visual narrative.
Built on the philosophy of creating targeted, effective, and easy-to-use skincare solutions, The Patch Effect designs products that integrate seamlessly into modern routines. The visual direction needed to reflect this clarity — clean, precise, and quietly elevated.
Spanning three days of production, the shoot combined both stills and motion. The first day focused on product-only compositions, while the remaining days brought in talent — introducing a more intimate, human perspective to the campaign.
The core challenge lay in balancing time, talent, and product. Close-up applications on skin demand absolute attention to detail: placement, texture, lighting, and continuity all need to align perfectly within tight timeframes. Every frame had to feel effortless, while being meticulously controlled behind the scenes.
Alongside styling, I also contributed to art direction on set, shaping the visual language in real time to ensure consistency across both still and motion. This meant refining compositions, adjusting details on the fly, and maintaining a cohesive aesthetic across multiple shooting environments.
Collaborating with a talented team and working so closely with both product and talent made this project especially rewarding. The final result captures a balance of clinical precision and modern beauty — bringing The Patch Effect’s vision to life in a way that feels both authentic and elevated.
